About Ros Na Rún

Ros na Rún is a soap opera set in the fictional village of Ros na Rún, translating to Headland of Secrets, focusing on the domestic and professional lives of its residents. Ros na Rún is the only soap in the world to be produced in the Irish language (English subtitles available) and is filmed in the heart of the Connemara Gaeltacht in Galway on the Wild Atlantic Way. It is the single largest independent production commissioned in the history of Irish broadcasting and currently the most concentrated production centre outside of Dublin and Wicklow.

Shot on a custom built studio lot in the coastal village of Spiddal, which was recently acquired by Danú Media. The space includes studios, make-up, wardrobe, post-production facilities and office space. Ros na Rún is a co-production between EO Teilifís and Tyrone Productions. The Executive Producers are Siobhán Ní Ghadhra and Patricia Carroll. The show is currently in its 26th season of broadcast on TG4.

Ros na Rún boasts a dedicated audience around the country and internationally with weekly viewership in excess of 150,000. Since earlier this year, you can also watch Ros na Rún on RTÉ, Saturday mornings at 8am.

Broadcasting for 41 weeks of the year, TG4 airs two episodes of Ros na Rún each week, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 20:30 with an Ollchlár (omnibus edition) on Sunday evenings, from September to May.
